Stella Ottewill is a director, teacher, student and writer. She teaches English and Drama at The St Michael Steiner School in Hanworth. She is currently studying for an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature at Birkbeck College, University of London and for a diploma in Steiner Education at the London Waldorf Seminar.
At the age of 18 she co-founded a theatre company (The Hatch Theatre Project, formerly Threshold Theatre) and was a producer, director, and performer for productions of The Crucible (Miller), An Ideal Husband (Wilde), and Macbeth (Shakespeare). At The St Michael Steiner School she has directed students in Amadeus (Shaffer), Constellations (Nick Payne), and Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare). She has also taught Drama at the London Waldorf Seminar.
Under various pseudonyms, she has written both fiction and non-fiction, including over a hundred short stories. She has also run sessions and reading evenings at conferences in both the UK and the USA. Stella has hosted several podcasts at different times and on a variety of topics but currently channels her audio work into theatre projects.
